10 REASONS WHY I LOVE MUMBAI!!!!

I am back and I have FINALLY settled down into my new home and new routine. Within a week of me reaching Mumbai Mr.Hubby & I had to leave Mumbai and go to vizag for 2 weeks. When I came back there was just so much work to do.

I have always wanted to visit Mumbai and honestly I am really happy that I am "living" here and NOT here as a tourist. Ofcourse Kerala is my base and I will definitely go back but for the time being BAM-BAI (the old hindi slang) is my home :)

Lets jump into it :)

1. I live in the posh area of Colaba(now that is something to grin about :D)

2. I love the authentic sev puri & sugar cane juice. The two things have become a staple in my life!

3. You can wear whatever you want & people could care less ( I come from Kerala, so this aspect of      mumbai is just awesome)

4. I love the sea and marine drive is my favourite  place to just "chill". The huge kulfi like rocks are too cute.

5.  Shopping!!!! MAN! how can I describe? Are you on a budget or do you have all the money in the world to spend???? then, you have come to the right place.

6. Good food. I love the small Iranian places in colaba and love the north indian sweets.

7. I am a huge "Amol Palekar" fan and in most of his movies they have featured the "OLD" Mumbai especially colaba (you can check out Golmal, Choti si baat & Baato baato mein), so I have always wanted to see Mumbai and to see the colaba now and the old colaba in those movies is something else.

8. Do you love night life???? Do I need to say more?????? Mumbai IS the place to be!!!PERIOD!

9. I love the fact that Mumbai is a melting pot for so many Indians. People from every single state is living here. Because of that Mumbaikars are more accepting & forthcoming compared to other north indian states about different cultures & people.

10. Last but not the least I am here with Mr.Hubby!!!!! YAAAAYYYYY!!! That is the biggest reason for me as Mumbai would always be remembered as the place we stayed when we had been "Just Married".

ONAM

I couldn't blog for the past one week as I was at my hubby's place celebrating Onam, the kerala festival. It was just so much of fun as all the family members were around and it felt even more great as it was festival time!

Every day we would put new "athapookkalams"(flower beds or carpets....if I may translate so in english). As my husband is from the northern part of kerala, their traditions for Onam totally differs from mine, so it was like discovering new stuff all together.

The biggest one was made on the last day and it took sooooo much of time but it was worth it :)

I was a weirdo!!!!

As a child, at times I was pretty weird.I was cleaning up my room today and I came up with a bunch of greeting cards that I had bought for "myself"(yup, u heard me) when I was 10 yrs old or something...

I had this *thing*  for archies and hallmark cards. At first I started to collect them and then it became an obsession and whenever I saw a new greeting card at the store I had to have it!!! especially the "birthday cards". I still remember pining over a card that had music in it. I still have it with me but it just doesn't play anymore. I stole money from my dad to purchase that!!!! :O well........he never found out........so, I guess its ok........ :D

My mom was a regular nancy drew and she had this penchant to sniff up stuff......but I was much much more cleve"rer".....I knew that she might eventually find out about the cards and then ask me about it.....so, I made this ingenious plan, I took every single card that I bought and started writing inside it in different handwritings(mind u....i was really shrewd even when I was 10!!!) and made all of it out to me from different friends. Ofcourse my mom was suspicious 'coz some of those names she hadn't even heard me mention( when you are in 5th std your mom knows all your friends rt)....anyway, even if she did think otherwise..she never questioned me......

That was a weird thing that I used to do and today when I saw my secret stash of "bday cards" I felt like laughing.....Anyway it kept me happy when I was a kid...so I don't think its THAT weird...right......

LIFE ON DA ROCKS

Don't get me wrong guys, my life is definitely not "on" the rocks or anything.........but I sure do like the sound of having my life with a glass half filled with "ice", so that I can be cool enough to face most of the things in life. This blog of mine will be my own personal niche, where I will be writing, rambling, cursing and applauding anything and everything in & about life and people around me.

I sometimes, visualise how things could have been in certain situations and how it has turned out now! I have always wanted to be a writer, and lo behold I am a Doctor now! I love my profession, but I do miss writing, reading and penning down the most ordinary things that happen in my life. I will try my level best to generate interest and keep the enthusiasm up through my posts, but, lets see......I have the attention span of a fly and I tend to lose interest after some time. I hope this time, it will be different!

Just like the pic above, its always work, home and last comes "LIFE" in general, so here, through this blog, let me share with you me, myself and my life :) It can be about anything something as serious as Tsunami in Japan or ahmmmmmm the goofy "Big Boss"( sorry guyz I think its quite lame :) ).
